Benedique's Crocheted Beanie Giveaway

Eek! Not a project update. My projects are still in their work in progress boxes, collecting dust. Bad procrastinator as usual. But it's so cold recently and all I want is do lazy stuff. You know, read books, surf online and watch movies. I know, lazy mode for this mommy.

But before you decided to skip on this entry, look at the cute crocheted beanie below. Don't you wish you have that little thing on your daughter's head? I know you want to. And it could be your (or my) lucky day to take this cutie home if you join Benedique's giveaway.

Confection Baby Shrug

An old project made for my little girl.

For this free knitting pattern, I use a locally made cotton yarn called Monaco and a US 5 circular knitting needles. This baby shrug was made in August last year. It fit her perfectly well but it's a bit tight on her now. That didn't stop her though from wearing it from time to time. I'm planning on making a bigger version for her. I'd like to try and use a different yarn this time. Something that is stretchable so she can still use after a couple of years. Hopefully, I'll get to find a yarn that is perfect for this project.

Any suggestions?

I am so excited to read the pattern and try knitting this for my toddler. I'll be using green with pink accent because I've been seeing that color combination a lot recently. I just hope that I'll have enough motivation to finish this. And then I saw another pattern for a shrug. I think it would work well with this dress.

I am feeling so inspired these days I cannot wait to start working on this. Wish me luck!

{ free pattern } 7-days summer bracelet

7 days summer bracelet
It's been a while since I updated this blog. Sadly, no completed projects yet as of the moment.

However, I'd like to share with you one of the patterns I made 3 years ago. It is called 7-days summer bracelet. This is the perfect accessory for summer days since the recommended yarn is cotton or linen. The good thing about this pattern is you can make adjustments according to the size you prefer. It's quite easy and you can make as many as you want and give them as gifts.

i can envision myself living in a home like this.

spring garden tee

as promised, here's my recent finished knitted project.

this is based on a knitted pattern by Alana Dakos of Never Not Knitting called Spring Garden Tee. i made this for my daughter who just turned two but it turns out i got the measurements wrong and the finished project is equivalent to size 3t. still, i think it's a good thing that it's bigger, at least she can wear it a few months from now.

it took me a month of on and off knitting to finish this project. regardless, i still love the end product. the tee is made of one ball of DMC Petra size 3 which is 100% cotton and knitted with Addi circular needles 3.75mm.

the pattern is surprisingly easy to follow. it is knitted from top to down and there are no seams. which is a big plus for me because i hate sewing seams.

now with the technical stuff:

motifs and I have a history of not liking each other. perhaps it's more of a one-sided dislike, not sure if the motifs hate me more than I hate them though. it's nice to finish a small motif but joining them all together is such a pain. I am yet to finish a project that is made of motifs. I'd like to one of these days. hopefully something similar to the crochet poncho shown above. it looks so warm and perfect.
